Backdoor Roth
What it is
A two-step move — contribute to a nondeductible Traditional IRA, then convert it to a Roth — used by people whose income is over the direct Roth contribution limit.
What it really means
Legal. Boring. Should be an annual reminder on your calendar if you're above the income cap. The pro-rata rule is where people mess it up.
