Grace Period

What it is

The window (usually 21+ days) between your statement closing and the due date, during which no interest accrues on new purchases if the prior balance was paid in full.

What it really means

The reason paying in full matters more than paying on time. Carry a balance once and the grace period disappears on your next statement — interest starts accruing from the day of purchase.
